The 2025 Olivier Awards celebrated the pinnacle of London theatre at the Royal Albert Hall. Three major accolades go to “Giant,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”
One particularly noteworthy episode was “Giant,” an intriguing mystery exploring Roald Dahl‘s contentious legacy. John Lithgow’s performance of Dahl brought him the Best Actor prize; Elliot Levey, as publisher Tom Maschler, won Best Supporting Actor. The drama itself received honours as Best New Play. Emphasising the ongoing “special relationship” between the US and the UK, Lithgow thanked the kind welcome from the UK theatre scene in his acceptance speech.
