Kanye West, who is now known as Ye, has brought his personal life back into the public eye. This time, he is fighting with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian over the naming rights for their children and North West’s participation in his latest musical project.
In a series of now-deleted social media posts, Kanye West accused Kim Kardashian of unilaterally trademarking their children’s names—North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm West—without his consent, expressing concern over a “white woman” having control over his “black children’s” identities.

The tension escalated when Ye released a new track, “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” featuring vocals from their 11-year-old daughter, North West, and a recorded prison call with Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently incarcerated awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Kardashian reportedly didn’t want North to be in the song and was looking for legal ways to stop it from coming out.
The prison call that got out said that Diddy wanted Ye to get back to his musical roots and told him to “have some fun” and “get behind the mic.” He also thanked Ye for taking care of his kids while he was in jail.

People on social media are divided on whether they agree with Ye’s stance on parental rights or disagree with the fact that he brought up private issues in public. As things go on, the difficulties of co-parenting in public continue to test both Kanye West and Kardashian, keeping their private fights in the public eye.
