Michelle Obama Addresses Divorce Rumors and Embraces Personal Independence

Michelle Obama, the former First Lady, recently talked about rumours that she and former President Barack Obama were having marriage problems and denied them. People started to wonder why Michelle wasn’t at several well-known events, such as the funeral for former President Jimmy Carter and President Donald Trump’s inauguration, which Barack attended by himself.

During an honest interview on Sophia Bush’s “Work in Progress” podcast, Michelle Obama said that her choice to limit some public outings was for her health and not because of problems in her marriage. She talked about the problems women face in society when they try to put their own needs first. “That’s what I think we women struggle with—like disappointing people,” she said. There were so many that this year, people couldn’t even believe I was choosing myself; they had to think my husband and I were getting a divorce.

Michelle Obama highlighted that with her daughters, Malia and Sasha, now grown and independent, she has more freedom to focus on herself. Michelle said. She said, “I could have made a lot of these decisions years ago, but I didn’t give myself that freedom.” With her increased freedom, she is more picky about the things she does, only choosing to do things that are in line with her hobbies and health.

When Michelle Obama talked about how people felt when she wasn’t at some events, she said that people often see women’s choices as bad. “That’s what society does to us,” she said. We finally start to ask ourselves, “What am I doing? For what am I doing this? People think we should do certain things, and if something doesn’t fit into that mould, it’s called terrible.

President Barack Obama has also said that his marriage was tested while he was in office. He told Michelle Obama that they were “in a deep deficit” and had been trying to get back in touch and do things together.

Even though there are rumours, the Obamas continue to show that they are one family. Barack’s recent public acts of love, such as sending him heartfelt birthday texts, show how close they are. Michelle’s choice to put her health first shows that she wants to live her life honestly, go against what society expects of her, and inspire other women to do the same.
